Services are continuing online until further notice. Please email office@stmarksenglefield.org.uk if you would like to receive the Zoom link each week.
Since we are not able to meet in groups, we are using this online Lenten series: https://www.biblesociety.org.uk/explore-the-bible/the-lent-encounter/. Those who ‘sign up’ will receive a daily email with Bible verses, video reflections and ideas for practical application. Depending on the uptake, there may be online weekly gatherings to review the sessions and encourage one another. A new book, 'The Bible: a story that makes sense of life', is not essential to the series but explores many of the themes considered in the sessions journeying through Lent and can be read alongside the programme. If you wish to order it, you may do so online at a significantly discounted price (£9.99 inc p&p) for those who enrol). Please let Nick know if you have registered and if you would be interested in the weekly meetings.
- 'Prayers for Uncertain Times', a selection of short prayers published by Our Daily Bread Ministries which you can read online or download here: https://odb.org/resources/he-
hears-us-prayers-from-an-ever- changing-world-to-a-never- changing-god - Daily Hope, a free national telephone line which offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England. The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly to provide comfort and spiritual nourishment to those who are unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions
Help at home:
Please let Nick or the churchwardens know if you are in need of help in any way. There is a St Mark's contact list of volunteers who are happy to shop, collect medication, walk a dog or have a chat over the phone - you only have to ask! Call Nick on 0118 9303595 or Carol on 0118 9303182 or Torquil on 0118 9714536 and they will put you in touch with someone who can help.
